Karen and I returned to Marble Falls in 2004. I had been here since the mid 70’s but then moved away for “college and career”.
When parent’s health began diminishing we were asked to pray about moving back for some ministry opportunities within Christ Redeemer Fellowship. At the time, I was working as an investigator with the Arkansas State Police in their Crimes Against Children Division. I have also been actively involved in a counseling ministry since 1990 on the side.
After much prayer Karen and I put our house on the market in an extremely depressed real estate market where the previous month four houses sold in the county. Ours sold as a “for sale by owner” by the first person that saw it, when the house across the street and the one next door where still on the market for sale as we drove away.
I would love to say everything went just as discussed and all the plans we had talked about opened wide but that wouldn’t be close to true. What did happen was what God had planned all the time and accepting the role as Associate Pastor of Christ Redeemer Fellowship has been nothing short of a privilege to serve in. I also accepted a position with Texas Housing Foundation in the resident services division. That position also affords the opportunity to serve residents of multiple properties keeps me busy as well.
To be able serve the body of Christ for Karen and I is a dream come true and one that we are excited to see what God is going to do next.
